Coach Waldrop enters his 1st season at Orange Beach High School.  He is a 1994 graduate of Hartselle High School, and graduated from UAB in 1998 with a degree in History.  He received his Master’s degree in Secondary Education from UAB in 2000.  

Coach Waldrop began his coaching career at Fayetteville High School in Talladega County, where he served as Head Coach for the boys’ basketball team and assistant coach for the football team. Coach Waldrop moved to Chelsea High School in 2002 and served as the Quarterback’s coach and Head Coach for the boys’ basketball team.  In 2005, he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator, and in 2006 became Chelsea’s Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics.  In 2013, he became the Head Football Coach at James Clemens High School.  He served there for 8 seasons, building the program into a top 10 7A contender.  In 2019, he was selected class 7A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Football Coaches Association.  After 8 seasons at James Clemens, he became the Head Football Coach at class 7A Florence High School.  In 2022, he became the Head Football Coach at Hoover High School, winning the Region 3 championship in 2022.  He is married to the former Kimberly Adams of Oxford, Alabama.  They have four children; Carsyn, Camryn, Cooper, and Callyn.
