Football
Coach Waldrop is starting his first season at Orange Beach High School. A 1994 graduate of Hartselle High School, he earned his degree in History from UAB in 1998 and completed his Master’s in Secondary Education there in 2000. He began his coaching career at Fayetteville High School in Talladega County, where he was Head Coach for boys' basketball and an assistant coach for football. In 2002, he moved to Chelsea High School, where he was the Quarterbacks Coach and Head Coach for boys' basketball. By 2005, he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator, and in 2006, he took on the roles of Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics at Chelsea.
In 2013, Coach Waldrop became Head Football Coach at James Clemens High School, where he led the team to become a top 10 contender in 7A football over eight seasons. In 2019, he was named 7A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Football Coaches Association. After his time at James Clemens, he went on to be the Head Football Coach at Florence High School before moving to Hoover High School in 2022, where he won the Region 3 Championship. Coach Waldrop is married to the former Kimberly Adams of Oxford, Alabama. They have four children: Carsyn, Camryn, Cooper, and Callyn.
